Practical
I first downloaded the pictures that were given to us to see what to work with.
I then made a new A4 size file and started cutting the pictures to suit what I wanted to arrange.
I went and arrange 3 composition using the rule of thirds and the golden ratio.
Fig. 3.3. Composition (21/10/24) |
The first composition was made using the rule of thirds as the base with the composition focusing on the center, This composition was made with the typewriter in mind as I wanted to make use of it so the color focus for this composition is the color blue hence the many parts of blue that were used.
The third composition doesn't really use any base as it was just my creative liberties and was freely made using my imagination but the ideas was using the movie projector to project 'the slices of life' hence the different parts of the composition.
In the end, Sir Fauzi chose for me to go with the first composition to proceed to the second part ,the adjustment layer, that were due this Wednesday.
Reflection
To be completely honest, I was extremely confused on where to start when I was making the first composition. I had no idea on what to make and the limited resources didn't exactly help but in the end I managed to arrange the very minimum of 3 composition. I also feared that because of the limited resources, the composition will all look similar. However, at class the very next week, I was shocked to see the many different ways an arrangement can be done using said limited resources. I concluded that it wasn't the resources that was limited but the tools that I was using. I should've thought more outside of the box and experimented more using the tools on photoshop.
