WEEK 1 : INTRODUCTION TO DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY & IMAGING

    This week lecture is basically an introduction to the module with information regarding the reason why photoshop is important for graphic designers such as to express our creativity and to of course create graphic designs. 

    It goes on to explain how photograph were manipulated using negative before photoshop was invented.  After photoshop was invented, they were done by 'Digital imaging' which converts the printed text, artwork and photographs into digital images using a digital scanner or other imaging devices by removing or adding details. 

    We were then given 10 tips on how to become a successful designer. One of the tips that struck me the most were to try and replicate other's work as usually it's a taboo to try to recreate other's work as it is not appropriate. But the tips said to do so as  it was said to be a proven valuable learning experience to get to know our own capabilities.

This week, we were to list down 3 of our favorite graphic design composition works from pinterest and explain the reasonings behind why it is our favorites.

Practical

Design #1 (Fig.1 Graphic Design 1 (18/11/24)):


Description: I like how the perspective and the colors was used to make the ball pop. The art style looks very colorful despite only using on color theme which is blue.




Design #2 (Fig.2 Graphic Design 2 (18/11/24)):



Description: I love how alive the design looks. Despite using the three main color, they managed to make it blend together and not clashing with each other. There looks to be three different style in each of the character that’s so subtle yet can make each character pop in their own ways. The empty space also helps balanced it all out to not make it too overwhelming.



Design #3 (Fig.3 Graphic Design 3 (18/11/24)):


Description:  I love the vibrant colorful look of the design. Even though it’s extremely colorful it can still manage to make the focal point pop.

Reflection

This was my first time actually thinking and writing down my opinions about others work that I honestly was really confused on how to describe what I feel and thought about works that I found interesting. My wording seems repetitive and yet I can't help but feel helpless as I am unable to word it any other way. But nevertheless, those words were my genuine thoughts that I once kept to myself as usually no one was too interested to hear my graphic designs works. I also rarely look at works like that as I usually don't have any idea what to look out for and can only look at it subjectively which was what I did in this post but just written out.
