I started on proposal on a MacNCheese recipe but midway changed the proposal from macaroni to Kue Pukis, a traditional Indonesian snack. After confirming the recipe is alright, I started sketching/thinking of the drafts and was given the recommendation from the lecturer to use smoke as the reading flow. So I made a rough draft and decided to use a "warung" style table with a plastic like look from the brush textures.

In the feedback, Mr.Martin said that the product looked like a mango and asked me to add more colors to it. He asked me to think about some other ways to show the ingredients list. I was a bit lost but tried to proceed by adding more colors to the Kue Pukis itself and used a watercolor brush to give texture. I finalize the assets and tried brainstorming for other style of infographic.

I showed Fig 3 to Mr.Martin where he mentioned that it's too graphic heavy and more like a poster and suggest I go back to my initial idea. So I tried to make the paper more dynamic by making it seem a recipe on a table with the product beside it.

Once again during feedback, Mr.Martin ask to go back to the original idea to make it more focused and readable as a infographic and not a poster. I felt like it was too simple and empty so I added some decoration and textures to the paper and shortening the steps even more.

After another round of feedback, I changed the background into a batik that where if you look closely is actually a pukis shape batik. I changed the paper decoration to be more subtle and have more of a batik or traditional look, added in the texts and a layer of color grading just to make the infographic feels more warm.

Reflections
At first, I was quite happy to receive this assignments since I can draw it on any app I wanted not just adobe. However, as time goes on, I felt stuck due to lack of ideas and in the end had to go back and forth between drafts only to go back to the original draft and improve from there instead. I had to think how to add the ingredients in and I had the idea of just combining it with the steps themselves so the viewer will know immediately which parts goes first. Overall, I'm glad I managed to make something that's okay to look at especially after so many revisions that I caused myself.
