WEEK 2 : INTRODUCTION TO COMPOSITION
Basic composition includes a strong
'focal point' , 'scale & hierarchy' to draw attention, 'element
balance' as if they have weight and 'white space' to give space to
breathe.
The Rule of Thirds is the process of dividing an image into thirds, using two horizontal and two vertical lines. It is a technique that's align with what is naturally pleasing towards the eye.

The Golden Ratio is a mathematical ratio that when used
in a composition can create an organic and natural looking composition
that is pleasant to look at.

Practical
The first thing that I did was of course search for some magazine
that could be used and choosing some pages that I thought I can
arrange into something. After I found some, I proceed to make the pre-composition.
In the end I manage to make a few composition but I chose 3 that I
thought were the best.

Sir Fauzi chose the second composition that I then glued in class. He said that he liked the composition because it's very random yet has a nice flow, from the eyes to the word "city" to the red block and continuing on to make one connected flow for the onlookers.
Reflection
This task was very fun to do, I've always liked to arrange similar
composition back at home so this task is already quite familiar for
me. Making collages challenges my creative mind to arrange the best
possible composition by using parts that nobody would've thought could
be used for something else. For this task, I destroyed something
beautiful in hope that I could make something better that could catch
people's attention. While fun, it has some of it's own difficulties,
for example because some of the magazine was shiny, it was hard to
take a photo of the composition without it being censored by the light
reflections. However, the end result of this task was quite satisfying after I managed
especially if you saw it in real life. I would definitely continue to make collages if I were given
the chance to.
